VW Emissions Controversy Has To Be Addressed

By October 30, 2015No Comments

At the Transport Committee in the Dail we were informed by representatives of Volkswagen Ireland that 115,917 cars will be recalled as a result of the emissions scandal that has been widely reported over the past couple of months. From questions that I asked, the emissions software will be replaced and the injector will also probably have to be replaced or modified as well. I asked how VW cars were able to avoid being detected by the emission machine during the NCT and was told by the SIMI representative and the NCT here does not search for Nitrus Oxide (NOX) which is at the heart of the current controversy. I would hope that all the affected cars would be recalled and dealt with as soon as possible and that the company make good any damage that they may have done.
