Roscommon Water Situation Improving

The news today that the boil water notices in the Castlerea area and the area in South Roscommon covered by Killeglan Springs will be lifted in the next few weeks is welcome. My target during the election campaign of having all boil water notices in county Roscommon lifted by the end of 2015 looks like it will actually happen and now the next priority will be the North-East Water scheme. I am confident that this scheme will also see it’s boil water notice lifted before the end of the year. I have been meeting Irish Water every single week since I was elected and I have been constantly stressing the need for the people of county Roscommon to have a safe drinking water supply. There are other remedial works for different areas in the county that need to be attended to and I will be pursuing those projects with Irish Water in the coming weeks.
