I have called on Minister James Reilly to ensure that funding for the Roscommon Safe Link service is maintained. A meeting of local public representatives will be held in Boyle next Tuesday to discuss fears about the funding of the service. The service is based in Boyle but serves the whole county
“This is the only dedicated service in County Roscommon which caters for women who suffer domestic violence and abuse and it is essential that the service is maintained at it’s current level at the very minimum. Last year alone the service had 100 new clients and had 1,929 appointments throughout the county. Ahead of next weeks’ meeting in Boyle I am calling on the Minister to issue a statement confirming that funding for this invaluable service will be continued at current levels”
