Over the past week we have heard and seen suggestions that pre-fabricated buildings could be imported to help solve the homeless crisis. However, as some of these houses could cost up to 100,000 Euro, I would be proposing that the Government go about building permanent housing at a competitive price and fast track that process immediately. There are long term jobs to be provided here as well if we can come up with a system wherby emergency housing can be built immediately by cutting through the usual red tape. Anything that would help to solve the homeless crisis is welcome but we must look at what is the most realistic way of going about that process.
