New Motorway Welcome But Much More Work Needed

By September 27, 2017No Comments
I welcome the opening today of the new M17 motorwary between Gort and Tuam and it will ease some of the traffic problems that have been experienced in places like Claninbridge and Claregalway over the years. However much more work needs to be done in terms of improved road infrastructure in the West.
The new motorway is welcome but now the focus must be to extend that motorway to Knock Airport as soon as possible. The further development of the N5 is also badly needed between Frenchpark and Tarmonbarry and the severe traffic problems around Galway City still remain to be resolved and a ring road for the city must remain a priority. These are just some of the matters that I included in the talks for the formation of a Government last year and I will be continuing to campaign vigoursly for these and other developments which are badly needed in the West of Ireland.
