New Land Eligibility Guidelines Welcomed

I have been working with a group of farmers for the past four to five months who have been penalised under the land eligibility rules and regulations. These farmers took on the Department of Agriculture and were vindicated in their stance and now a new booklet is being sent out to farmers on land eligibility. These farmers had to take these steps to finally get common sense to prevail. I have been involved in many meetings on this issue and have raised this matter constantly at the Dail Committee on Agriculture to highlight the problems that farmers from all parts of the country were experiencing. These farmers did exactly what they were told yet they will still penalised. I would now encourage farmers to study the revised guidelines as the new booklet appears to be a document that is workable.
