The news that the Bankruptcy Bill will be brought to cabinet this week to reduce the time of bankruptcy from three years to one year is very welcome and it is an issue that I have been campaigning on since I was elected. I have supported Deputy Willie Penrose in his campaign all along on this issue andthist is a welcome development. The new legislation would bring Ireland in line with the United Kingdom. It has been signalled for some weeks that it would be brought to cabinet with a view to getting the legislation in place before the end of the year. I welcome this development and it should make a huge positive difference for a lot of people.
