Health issues have been top of the agenda for many families during this election campaign. The Hospital Action Committee (HAC) has done an excellent job in recent decades in keeping the need for additional health services in general, and services at Roscommon County Hospital in particular, centre stage. I welcome the statement by former HAC chairman John McDermott in which he calls for “fresh blood” and I look forward to the challenge as a newly elected TD to represent the people of Roscommon and East Galway to highlight the need for additional health services to serve the people that I represent.
If we are to further the provision of emergency services in this region and in county Roscommon we must all work together and I look forward to working with the HAC and other elected representatives to bring to this constituency our fair share of a properly functioning health service if I am elected on Friday.
