Kenny/Kelly Can Solve South Roscommon Controversy

By February 26, 2016No Comments

The controversy over South Roscommon and the attempt by the authorities to take a portion of the county and put it into Westmeath can be very easily solved if the Taoiseach Enda Kenny or Minister Alan Kelly makes a definitive statement to say that the proposal has been abandoned..
The people of Roscommon showed what they think of this proposal with 1,500 attending a public meeting and 30,000 submissions to Westmeath County Council. It is clear that any attempt to implement this crazy proposal will meet with the strongest of resistance so the simple thing would be for the Taoiseach or Minister Kelly to issue a statement to say that the proposal will not go ahead under any circumstances. That would clear the matter up once and for all.
