I have today received the following responses from Irish Water on a number of issues that I have raised with them in the past few weeks
1. In relation to the UV system for Williamstown, this is programmed to be installed on site by the end of July 2015. It will then undergo a period of process proving to ensure that the system is robust before the Boil Water Notice is lifted.
2. Regarding the laying of a new pipe from Lough Mask in Co. Galway to Williamstown, Co. Mayo, this project is going through final detailed design and it is programmed to be completed by December 2016.
3. In response to your query about ending boil water notices in Co. Roscommon by December 2015, Castlerea and Killeglan are currently undergoing a period of process proving to ensure that they are robust. We will be in a better position to give you a further update in the near future. A Temporary UV system is still on track to be put in place in September 2015.
I have been following up on these issues on a weekly basis and I proposed that a UV system would be suitable for north east Roscommon. I have checked on all the systems available and I welcome the fact that Irish Water are putting this system in place .I shall be following up on these and other issues this week and will have further news in the coming weeks.
