I warmly welcome the news this week that Castlerea based firm Harmac Medical is to extend it’s facility by 18,000 sq ft. It is my understanding that work on the extension will begin soon at lands which have been especially designated by Roscommon County Council. Harmac have been an excellent employer in Castlerea over the past 20 years and there are over 300 people employed at the facility which represents a huge investment and vote of confidence in the town and surrounding areas. I wish Harmac well with the expansion plans and assure them of any support I can give. It is employers like Harmac that help to keep rural Ireland alive and they have to be congratulated for their continued commitment to Castlerea.
