Government Should Stop Squabbling And Get On With Their Work

What happened this week when Ministers voted against their cabinet colleagues on the Mick Wallace bill on abortion is bad for politics and the Government should stop squabbling in public and get on with governing the country.
If there are differences in the cabinet those matters should be aired in private and not played out in the media as was the case this week.People want legislation to be brought forward and they want the things that were promised in the programme for Government carried out. You cannot go from week to week with one row after another in Government. They have to settle down and learn from their mistakes and drive on and represent the people who put them there. I’m not sure what was explained to Ministers with regard to cabinet responsibilities when the Government was formed but it should have been explained clearly by An Taoiseach and what we need to see now is a Government doing it’s job.
