Gardai Should Receive Defibrillator Training

I am today proposing that all new Gardaí who are in training in Templemore receive instruction and training in how to use a defibrillator and that every Garda patrol car have a defibrillator that can be used in the even of an emergency,. This can happen on a phased basis as more Gardaí are trained to use it. We have seen in many communities the benefit of defibrillators and the more people that are able to use them the better. It would be a great comfort to many people to know that Gardaí would be able to use a defibrillator and it would not represent a huge cost to the exchequer.
