Flood Damage Allocations Welcomed

By February 26, 2016No Comments

I welcome the 4.5 million Euro allocation for County Roscommon and the 6 million Euro allocated to County Galway to repair flood damaged roads. But realistically we will need more funds to undo the massive damage that has been caused not only in Roscommon and Galway but all around the country. Now we need additional funding to do minor works schemes which would be aimed at preventing future flooding. We have to ensure that this work is done as efficiently as possible without red tape and needless expense. Roscommon and Galway County Councils are well able to do this work without consultants delaying the work and wasting taxpayers money.
