FITZMAURICE CALLS ON AN BORD ALTRANAIS TO CHANGE THEIR MINDS.
Michael Fitzmaurice TD is calling on An Bord Altranais(Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland) to cancel huge rise in the cost of registering with the Board. “Nurses were shocked to receive the bill this year for the Annual retention fee which has rocketed to €150”
Fitzmaurice says “Nurses, like so many others, have been the victims of enough cuts and it is not fair for An Bord Altranais to increase these annual charges without giving any additional service to Nurses up and down the country”
Nurses are frontline staff , often working in difficult and over worked conditions to keep our Health services going. Nurses are expected to register in order to be employed so they are left with no choice and because there is no option for them these retention fees should be capped at the level which existed last year.
