Farmers Pulling Out Of Beef Genomics Scheme

It is believed that at least 1,400 farmers have now left the Beef Genomics Scheme, most of them are small farmers with suckler herds and they have pulled out because of the red tape that’s involved. It is another indication that Minister Coveney is completely disconnected from the small family farm and small farmers. The numbers of farmers pulling out of the scheme is set to grow in the coming days and weeks as more and more become completely disillusioned with how it is operating. When will it dawn on the Minister that a complete review of the terms and conditions of this scheme is needed immediately? Minister Coveney need to address this situation immediately.
