EU Proposals Good News For Knock Airport

By October 4, 2016No Comments

News this week that the EU are to amend the regulations governing the amounts that Governments can spend on regional airports would be very good for smaller regional airports and for Knock Airport in particular. The new proposals would exempt airports with less than 3 million passengers per year from the current regulations, leaving the Irish Government free to invest in airports like Knock. This would be very good news for Knock and the West of Ireland as it is a major part of the infrastructure of the region and with proper Government investment more jobs can be provided as the airport is developed. The future development of Knock Airport in this context is a matter that I will be taking up with transport Minister Shane Ross at my earliest opportunity.
