Today’s announcement that 60 new jobs will be created in Ballinasloe by Chanelle Pharma will be a huge boost to the town, according to Independent TD Michael Fitzmaurice.
Commenting on the development, the representative for the Roscommon-Galway constituency said: “Ballinasloe as a town has plenty of attractive qualities for businesses looking to expand or set up a new base.
“Today’s news that Chanelle Pharma, a significant employer in the county already, is set to create 60 new jobs with a new facility at the IDA Ireland Business and Technology Park is very welcome.
“In years gone by, Ballinasloe was home for a number of factories and significant employers. But these have dwindled in recent memory.
“However, the town is ideally located in a central location in the country. With easy access to the motorway and the rail network, it should be a very attractive option for business owners.
“You also have Athlone IT, which was granted Technological University status alongside Limerick Institute of Technology earlier this month, just a few short miles away.
“I wish Chanelle Pharma and its founder Michael Burke every success in the new venture, and commend him for selecting Ballinasloe as the site for his new hub.
“Both Enterprise Ireland and the IDA need to continue working to attract new employers to Ballinasloe, and showcase what it has to offer,” Fitzmaurice concluded.
