I welcome the news today that planning permission has been granted for the proposed Centre Parks holiday development village in Ballymahon. While it is not in my constituency, this development will be a huge boost to employment in the region as a whole and the fact that there will be 750 jobs during construction and another 1000 when the development is completed is very good news for the midlands and west. I hope that the finance is in place for this development because the last thing we want to see is a repeat of the situation with the proposed bio-mass plant in Mayo when construction had to stop because the finance was not in place. This Centre Parks development will be a huge boost to the economy of the entire region and once again I want to welcome today’s news.
