Bord na Mona Management Urged To Settle Drivers Dispute

With regard to the impending industrial action among drivers at Bord na Mona, my belief is that and organisation must be led from the top and the people who are running Bord na Mona should be looking at their own remuneration packages before they propose to reduce the pay of their workers. As usual cuts start at the bottom and that’s what happening here and it is extremely unfair. Bord na Mona have a major plan in place to scale down their operations over the next 15 years and with that in mind a time scale like that gives the company scope to allow the drivers that are affected to retire naturally without being penalised. The management of Bord na Mona need to sit down and resolve this issue because it is not in the interests of anyone that deliveries to power stations be affected in any way.
