Boil Water Notices In Castlerea and Killeglan Lifted

The news that the boil water notices in the Castlerea and Killeglan areas in Co Roscommon are to be lifted from today is very welcome and I have worked hard with Irish Water since I got elected to resolve these issues and it is very welcome that the people in both areas will have a proper water supply as is their right. People in the Castlerea area have been affected for a total of five years while the Killeglan problem has been ongoing since October 2013, and a total of 11,300 people have been affected. There are other problems with the water supply in the area that are ongoing and I will be pursuing a solution to those problems with Irish Water at our weekly meetings. The news that so many people will now have a dependable water supply after so many years of having to use bottled water is welcome and hopefully all the other outstanding issues with the water supply in this area will be resolved as soon as possible. My focus now will be on the North East water supply scheme and I have a proposed a temporary UV system be installed in that area until the main pipeline is operational. My prediction that all boil water notices in Co Roscommon will be lifted before Christmas is still attainable.
