I warmly welcome the local grants announced under the Creative Ireland programme this week. A grant of 276,615 Euro will be given to Roscommon Arts Centre for improvements. The centre has been a major part of the life of the community in the county town and throughout the county and it is a focus for theatre, dance, music and the other arts for many years past. Glenamaddy Arts and Historical Society have been awarded a grant of 50,000 Euro for maintenance work which is also welcome. The Society have been an integral part of the community in the Glenamaddy community since being established in 1990 and I welcome this allocation.
Grants have also been awarded to the Galway City Museum (180,280), Town Hall Theatre Galway (118,129) and the Yeats Thoor Ballyee Development (22,000) which are also being welcomed this week
