People who are making travel plans and who might need a passport or to renew their existing passport should remember that there are long delays at the moment due to the huge volume of applications that are being received at the Passport Office and they should apply in good time.
The traditional way of using the Post Office is still the best way to apply but people must make sure to apply in time as there is a delay of up to a month at the Passport Office at the moment. There is also a new online system which is working well and this is just a reminder to people to apply for their passport renewals or new passports in good time to avoid problems and delays later on.
