Allegations That Important Drugs Are Being Withdrawn From Ambulances As A Cost Cutting Measure

It has been brought to my attention by ambulance staff that an important cardiac treatment drug, Effedrine, has been withdrawn from ambulances as a cost cutting measure. It is scarcely believable that life saving drugs are now being taken out of use in the name of saving money. This latest turn of events comes on the back on all the news in recent months of a huge increase in waiting lists, overcrowding at A and E departments, problems with funding for the ambulance service, and other serious ongoing problems in our health service. I am calling on the HSE and Minister Varadkar to make a public statement on this most serious issue immediately and if there is evidence to the contrary let it be put into the public domain.
