2,600 Council Houses Vacant Across The Country

On the issue of the housing crisis in the country at the moment, I warned a number of weeks ago that figures would show that there are thousands of vacant houses all around the country owned by local authorities and now this week we learn that there are 2,600 vacant local authority houses throughout the country. Over the past number of weeks we have heard loads of proposals as to how we might solve the housing crisis such as bringing in pre-fabricated buildings etc but if we provide the funding to ensure these 2,600 houses are habitable then it would make a great start to solving the problem. I will be raising this matter with the Minister this week as a matter of urgency.
