Today’s announcement that the N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramogue Road Project has been approved by Cabinet and can now progress to the construction phase has been welcomed by independent TD Michael Fitzmaurice.
Commenting in the wake of the announcement by the Minister for Transport, Eamon Ryan, Fitzmaurice said:
“I welcome the news that this project has been given the green light to progress to the construction phase.
“This is a critical part of infrastructure for county Roscommon and indeed the west of Ireland.
“This project has been spoke about for some time and finally action is soon to be taken. These upgrade works will improve road safety on the route in question, which is vitally important.
“I look forward to seeing this project, which is set to cost an estimated €200 million and take three years to complete, moving onto the construction phase in the next few weeks,” Fitzmaurice concluded.
