Campaign On Apprenticeships Pays Off In Budget

The additional resources allocated to apprenticeships in this weeks’ budget is welcome. Some months ago I published a major policy document on the whole area of apprenticeships and I am glad to see that at least two thirds of the measures proposed in that document will now become a reality. We had to change the way we looked at apprenticeships in this country and this budgetary measure is welcome. There is still work to be done in this area and I will be lobbying hard to ensure that the rest of the proposals in my policy document are implemented without delay.
