With regard to the ongoing situation in Ballygar and the boil water notice that is in place there, I have been in contact with Irish Water on a daily basis since it was imposed and the up to date situation is that Irish Water are checking for the source of the contamination. They have found that the problem is not at the local water treatment plant. They have been checking the entire system and they have not yet found the source of the contamination. The HSE and the EPA are also monitoring the situation and I will be hoping for another update very shortly. I realise that businesses and the public are suffering as a result of this situation and I will be making a further statement on the matter before the weekend.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
