I am today calling on the Government to introduce emergency legislation to protect family homes, particularly where there are children involved, from repossession. I am making the call in light of decisions in the courts in Roscommon on Monday last when a number of repossessions were granted, which included family homes. I am also supporting Deputy Willie Penrose who is introducing a bill which will ease the situation with regard to insolvency and bankruptcy in the Dail very shortly. I am told that this situation with regard to repossessions is set to get worse if something is not done immediately, and the Government must act to address this situation before more families lose their homes<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
