Today\u2019s announcement that the N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramogue Road Project has been approved by Cabinet and can now progress to the construction phase has been welcomed by independent TD Michael Fitzmaurice.<\/p>\n

Commenting in the wake of the announcement by the Minister for Transport, Eamon Ryan, Fitzmaurice said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI welcome the news that this project has been given the green light to progress to the construction phase.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a critical part of infrastructure for county Roscommon and indeed the west of Ireland.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis project has been spoke about for some time and finally action is soon to be taken. These upgrade works will improve road safety on the route in question, which is vitally important.<\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward to seeing this project, which is set to cost an estimated \u20ac200 million and take three years to complete, moving onto the construction phase in the next few weeks,\u201d Fitzmaurice concluded.<\/p>\n
