I welcome today’s announcement of allocations under the Minor Works Scheme for primary schools nationwide and when the Programme for Government was being negotiated I insisted that the announcement of allocations under this scheme and the Summer Works Scheme be made in this way so as schools knew where they stood and the uncertainly was taken out of the equation. I will also be keeping up the pressure on the Government that the pupil teacher ratio be maintained and improved and that other resources like the provision of SNA’s and other essential services be maintained and improved in our rural national schools in particular.<\/p>\n
