I welcome today’s news that the Gardai have broken up a crime gang that were behind hundreds of robberies in rural Ireland. It is also significant that Gardai identified a farming insider who was supplying information such as access codes to gates and locks and locations of keys etc as a vital member of that gang. This is what I have been saying all along that these criminals are getting information locally and that local intelligence is so important when it comes to solving crimes like these.
